How does it work?

A comprehensive program might consist of hundreds of hours of programming material. Such a program would use initially use materials from our Preparation for Treatment and Self-Discovery workbook series (pre-contemplation to contemplation). From here, specific programming issues are addressed using gender- and age-specific resources (contemplation to preparation), including age-specific materials from the Women's Issues series. Later, specific coping skills are explored (action) and Returning Home materials develop post-release protective factors (action and maintenance).

Substance Abuse Treatment

Comprehensive cognitive-behavioral treatment model, including coping skills, relapse prevention, and risk factors management tools. Supports MI/CBT, individual change model (Prochaska), and social learning treatment approaches for substance abuse treatment programs.

A New Freedom's substance abuse curriculum is based on helpful gender-specific workbooks and group activities (grade 4-6 reading level), these materials provide "homework" between sessions, and are easy to implement with individuals, TCs, and groups.

With over 200 female gender-specific workbooks and other curriculum resources, we support longer programs, and specialize in tailoring programs to your needs.
