As is commonly known, brain development continues well into the 20s. The result is that 18 to 25 year olds─ emerging adults─ are especially vulnerable to risky behavior and bad decision-making. Unfortunately, our justice system has long identified the 18th birthday as the beginning of adulthood, and many in this age group end up in adult corrections. Increasingly, many states are now re-evaluating their emerging adult populations, and how programming can be focused to help this population transition into healthy, functioning adults. Our extensive experience in creating successful programs for both juvenile and adult corrections leave us uniquely qualified to create effective programming especially for Emerging Adults. FEATURES OF OUR EMERGING ADULT PROGRAMS Our programs address both the needs of juveniles and the needs of young adults. All of our outcome-driven programming is firmly based on encouraging and motivating change. In addition, our emerging adult programs address:
A PROGRAM THAT ADDRESSES YOUR SPECIFIC NEEDS You have multiple populations─ we have a range of resources for these different populations and years of experience shaping our resources into a program that fits your exact needs. We can help you pick the resources you need and shape them into a structured program with assessments, MI tools, and fidelity monitoring. Our programs achieve stated outcomes and motivate change along the way. Here are a few examples of resources we have developed that are ready for use with emerging adults. Residential Programming Our focus on CBT, Motivational Interviewing, the Stages of Change, and Relapse Prevention is powerfully effective with emerging adults. In addition, we have created two sample group models that demonstrate our ability to create different models at different dosages to met your specific needs.
